MORE than 130 people took part in a walk in memory of a 28-year-old woman who died from a brain tumour.
The group walked eight miles around Cottingham, which was home to Jodie Adams before her death in December following a five-year battle against her illness.

It was named the Hippo Walk because of Jodie’s love of hippos and now her family are hoping to make it an annual event.

The walk, which took place yesterday, raised about £9,000.

Her mother Heather Adams, of Islip, said: “We had a fantastic turnout, it was amazing. It just shows how well Jodie was thought of.

“This means we can take something positive out of losing her by raising money in her name.”

Mrs Adams said when Jodie was first diagnosed, they couldn’t find any support groups in Northamptonshire.

When they contacted the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust, Jodie and her family finally received help and now her family has set up a fund in her name under the trust’s umbrella.
